American Girl Doll
My daughter, on her 5th birthday, wanted an American Girl Doll. At the time I was a doll neophyte, little did I realize what was to come. Today – she is well on her way to being 7, and we have a house full of American Girl “stuff”. You probably know this already – but American Girl isn’t just a doll, it is a lifestyle for little girls.
It began with a trip to the American Girl Store in Chicago. She and Mom had lunch in the cafe, with her new American Girl in a seat attached to the table of course, and proceeded to shop me into the poorhouse, albeit she looks good in our poorhouse. She and her doll are never very far apart. Her doll even traveled with us to Disney this year (she had a wonderful time according to my daughter).
So save yourself some money and get the American Girl basics from eBay sellers, but, if possible, make sure your little girl gets to experience an American Girl Store and Cafe – the delight in her eyes will make it worth every penny.
